Boogordoctor.com Among Best Medical Education Websites ?
Pacific Medical Training offers courses to healthcare professionals and medical students. Based on their roster of 50,000 students, they compile a collection of the best medical-education websites, and every other year, they award the ten best their Best Medical Websites Award.
I am surprised – and honored – for boogordoctor.com to be among the 10 Best Medical Websites for 2016!!
Some Great Resources!
Be sure to check out some of the great websites that were voted to receive Best Medical Education Websites of 2016 Award:
http://www.sleep-doctor.com/blog/ On this site, Eric Kezirian, MD, MPH – a world expert on sleep disorders – educates us about sleep disorders in children as well as adults. Like me, Dr. K. is trained as an Otolaryngologist-Head & Neck Surgeon (yes, another booger doctor!). If you or your children struggle with sleep disorders, do check out his site. The next one, too:
http://doctorstevenpark.com/category/blog Dr. Steven Park is another Otolaryngologist-Head & Neck Surgeon. (Interesting how three of the best 10 educational websites for 2016 are for booger docs, huh?) Dr. Park is also board-certified in Sleep Medicine. Having considered working toward that board-certification myself (my own journey went in the direction of becoming board-certified in Integrative & Holistic Medicine instead), I can say that those folks really know their stuff! And his website shows it: another awesome resource for anyone struggling with sleep disorders.
Speaking of Integrative Medicine…
http://carolynee.net/ Dr. Carolyn is a general practitioner who uses an Integrative approach to care: in addition to her “conventional” Western training, she has trained extensively in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Medical Acupuncture, as well as Nutritional Medicine. It’s all good. And, as a working mother, Dr. Carolyn has some insights for women struggling to achieve that mythical “work-life balance.” Be sure to check out her website!
http://www.drnorthrup.com/ I know that many (most?) readers of my website are mothers of children with respiratory ailments, or expecting mothers with Rhinitis of Pregnancy. For the women who visit here, Dr. Christiane Northrup’s website is a great resource. Dr. N. is an OB/GYN and woman who has published several books and appeared on shows such as Oprah. Worth checking out.
http://www.glidden.healthcare/ Dr. Peter Glidden is a Doctor of Naturopathy – like my own personal physician. As such, he is trained in a broad, open-mind approach to achieving and maintaining health. He runs this website, and also a Podcast, so check them out…good general health resource!
http://www.oliversacks.com/ I can’t express how humbled and shocked I am that my website (boogordoctor.com) is included on a list with this website! Oliver Sacks, MD – physician, best-selling author, and Professor of Neurology – has been one of my personal heroes in medicine since I first read his book (The Man who Mistook his Wife for a Hat) during my neuroscience training. He considered the human brain to be the most complex and incredible thing in he universe. You can find links to his books on his website, and his note about discovering his terminal cancer in his New York Times article.
And I am profoundly grateful to my many readers and followers: every month, somewhere between 30,000 and 40,000 of you visit this website; and many of you, including ‘old’ patients of mine, send me email updates on your own health progress. Thank you all!
