Eating for Reflux: A Handbook and Cookbook for Those with Heartburn

The Reflux Diet: A Quick Book Review

If you struggle with reflux, it is reassuring that there is a reflux diet that can help you manage – without medications!

This is a quick post to review one of my favorite books, Eating For Reflux: A Handbook and Cookbook for Those with Heartburn, by Jill Sklar and Annabel Cohen.

(Note that I only recommend or endorse books that I have actually read, or products that I actually use. The link provided here is an Amazon “affiliate” link: if you click over to check out the reviews of the book, and then you actually BUY it, a few cents go toward supporting this website – whoohoo!! :))

The bottom line: this is an outstanding book if you have reflux, or someone you love does.

Gastro-esophageal reflux – GER, or full-blown GERD

It is estimated that 44% of us (Americans) have reflux every month. That’s over 135 Million of us!!

Reflux can feel like you’ve swallowed razor blades

If you’re one of those 135 Million Americans who have reflux, you know that the resulting heartburn can feel like you’ve swallowed a handful of razor blades.

For those of you who are too young to know, the image in this post is of an old-style “razor blade”. There was a time when one of these super-sharp sheets of steel was actually placed, by hand, into a razor handle, and used to shave with. (Long before quintuple-bladed disposables and fancy electric razors).

This book provides the medical education on reflux in easy-to-understand, plain English. The recipe section is just a nice bonus. This book can help.

So, if you have reflux, or your spouse or children have reflux, do these things right now:

  1. Check out this book over on the boogordoctor’s Amazon Store. (I just LOVE Amazon. Their prices are hard to beat, the reviews are spot-on, and their recommendations are as if from my friendly neighborhood bookstore or grocer).
  2. Take a look at a couple older articles here on boogordoctor.com:

and finally, an article on The Unified Airway
Be sure to check the references / links in those earlier articles if you are super curious, and want to see the data
  3. Then, if you haven’t already done it, I invite you to Subscribe to this blog for FREE updates and notices of upcoming eBooks.

.

Despite the fact that the authors of this book live in my neck of the woods, I have never met them. I should invite them for tea sometime!
